    1. Responding to questions regarding the decision of the US International Trade Commission (ITC) imposing anti-dumping tax on catfish exports from Viet Nam, MOFA Spokesperson Le Hai Binh stated,

“We reaffirm that Viet Nam’s companies are not dumping frozen tra fish and basa fish fillet products into the US market. The anti-dumping tax imposed by the US International Trade Commission on these products are unfair and going against free trade principle and the flourishing bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries. The decision is not conducive to the Viet Nam – US comprehensive partnership.

We believe that trade activities between the two countries must be considered in an objective and fair manner, for the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese farmers, producers, processors and exporters, as well as the benefits of the US importers and distributors.”

    2. Responding to questions regarding the announcement by WTO on its final decision on Viet Nam’s lawsuits regarding US imposition of anti-dumping tax on Viet Nam’s shrimp, MOFA Spokesperson Le Hai Binh stated,

“Viet Nam highly appreciates the role of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in the multilateral trade system in general, and in the settlement of international trade disputes in particular.

The decision by WTO on Viet Nam’s lawsuits regarding US imposition of anti-dumping tax on Viet Nam’s certain warm-water frozen shrimp products is a possitive sign that motivates the related industries in Viet Nam.”
