Remarks by MOFA Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on 18th December 2014

Answering reporters’ question on Viet Nam’s reaction to the statements by Cuban and US Heads of State on restoring diplomatic ties, Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated,
“Viet Nam applauds Cuban President Raul Castro and US President Barrack Obama for their statements on restoring the two countries’ diplomatic ties after 53 years of interruption.
Viet Nam believes that these historic annoucements are the beginning to the full normalization of bilateral relations, which will bring legitimate interests for the people of Cuba and the US and significantly contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability, as well as the enhancement of cooperation in America and the world.”
