Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged relevant agencies to immediately join hands in solving any possible problems emerging from the Hoa Lac high-tech park in Ha Tay province, just west of Ha Noi. It is a key project between Viet Nam and Japan, under which Japan will cover the planning scheme and call on its businesses to invest in the park.

In his working session on March 24 with relevant agencies and local authorities, PM Dung asked for their guaranttee to expand the park territory to 1,600 ha in the second phase.

He instructed the Park's managerial board, as the major investor, to work with relevant agencies to speed up the planning process and deploy soon construction of infrastructural facilities in line with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency's scheme soon.

Construction of State budget-funded facilities such as traffic arteries, fence walls, the water supply system and sewerage of the high-tech park should be finished by early 2008, said the Government leader.

Ministerial and industrial executives and Ha Tay authorities promised to finish planning by November 2007 and hand over 600 ha of ground for the project managerial board by the second quarter of 2008.

So far 200 ha of ground has been cleared, said the managerial board.

Investment in the first phase is designated at 96 million USD, including the cost of investment promotion campaigns./.(VNA)
